The watercolour artist

Marina Assis

The first time I picked up a paintbrush was because of my grandmother. Every week, we would paint tea towels together while having coffee.

She never considered herself an artist, but to me, she’s always been the greatest of them all. Painting with her wasn’t just about creating something beautiful, it was about sharing warmth, love, and moments that I still cherish to this day.

Art still carries that feeling of comfort that left such an impression on me. It’s my way of connecting with the world, telling stories, and immortalising emotions through watercolour, just as those afternoons with my grandmother immortalised my love for art.

My artworks have reached over 10 countries, finding homes and people who have connected with my art.

I often say that my artistic side was reawakened when I moved to London. It was in this vibrant city full of life and inspiration that, almost 4 years ago, I decided to leave behind my career as a nutritionist to fully dedicate myself to being an artist.

Being an artist is more than just a job to me. It’s a privilege to paint unique stories, create new memories, and see my creations printed on products and invitations.

Art is my way of connecting with the world, inspiring people, and immortalising emotions. Through my brushstrokes, I aim to touch souls.
